Do you need a wedding planner?

Deciding on a wedding planner is serious. Take into consideration how much work you want to do. More importantly, how much research do you want to do. I've talked to dozens of brides who tell me that their friends are giving them a binder with all the stuff they did for their own weddings. And then I ask the bride if they're having the same wedding as their friend. They usually get a blank look on their face and realize that they want their own wedding, not a copy-cat of a friend's.....especially if that friend is going to brag to everyone that their friend copied their wedding because it was so special and so different. A wedding planner can help you make decisions, be creative and help you with all the necessary details. If you think a friend or family member is going to help you during your wedding day, forget it. It's not going to happen without resentment. There is more information about a wedding planner in my book
