I know that many brides dream of a multi-tiered wedding cake that is the centerpiece of the room.  But quite often, the cost of such a cake can be thousands of dollars.  If you're having a wedding with a guest list of 200 people or more, here is a way to cut back on the cost of the cake.  You can still have a multi-tiered wedding cake that is gorgeous, but order one for only 75-100 people.  In addition, order a sheet cake for the remaining people, which will be kept in the kitchen and out of site of the guests.  A custom made multi-tiered cake can cost as much as $10+ a slice, whereas a sheet cake can cost as little as $1.25 a slice.  So if you can't afford to pay thousands of dollars for an elegant, custom made cake that will feed everyone, consider the above cost-cutting suggestion.
