So you've seen the prices of wedding gowns and you're thinking that half your budget is going toward a gown you'll never wear again.  It is the one day that you'll wear this dress and it should be very special and very beautiful.  But it shouldn't have to break the bank.  If you're on a tight budget, but yet want an elegant gown, here are some budget tips.  Search for a gown at Goodwill stores (you might have to look in a dozen stores), consignment stores, dress rental stores, or borrow a gown from a relative (something borrowed!).  Also, some wedding dress stores have gowns that were never picked up because of a canceled wedding.  Ask to see these.  Quite often the store manager will tell you they don't have any, but be a bit persistent -- sometimes a rack or two will come out from the back room.  There are many other budget tips in my book To Do Before "I Do" which can be purchased at www.LuLu.com.  Happy shopping!  Rita
